Kindle Owners’ Lending Library and the future of mobile device

This is another reason why people choose to buy Kindle Fire rather than Samsung Galaxy Tabs or iPad. Kindle Fire is backup with the giant web service provider including its online store. Kindle owners may read best-seller ebook from its kindle device in  term of “borrow”, instead of buy.

And the Amazon provides over 100,000 titles, consisting “a variety of breakout, best-selling titles for free” said the press release.  Kindle owner may borrow  ‘Nobody’ by Creston Mapes, ‘The Walk’ by Lee Goldberg and ‘Abducted’ byTheresa Ragan, as well as Kindle Singles from best-selling authors Andy Borowitz, Karin Slaughter and Mishka Shubaly.

I think, this is the Amazon’s best service to win the competition at 2012 tablet war. And its marking the second level of tablet sales competition, when the vendor provide more features built with its device. Customer will buy the tablet not only consider the specification but the services as well.

If the lending scheme is appreciated by the market, I’m sure many vendors of tablet computer will try to increase its service as well. Offering a device would be more interesting if its packed with the another free service, free apps that featured at the level of continuity. Let see what will Samsung, Apple and Sony do to compete at the second level of tablet computer war.

Btw, since launching the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library in November 2011, selection has grown by over 20 times.
